Join CFCW for a special tribute to the man considered to be the greatest country singer of all time – George Jones. Duane Steele will take you on a journey through “The Possum’s” 50 year career with stories and songs.
Duane Steele is a multi-award winning singer/songwriter with multiple singles on the Canadian country charts, including “Anita Got Married”. Duane has toured the world headlining his own shows and opening for artists like Shania Twain, Terri Clark, Trisha Yearwood and Sammy Kershaw.
The Legend of The Hag
In “The Legend of the Hag”, JUNO-nominated singer Jess Lee will take you on a journey through the life & times of one of the greatest artists in country music history – Merle Haggard. CTV’s Graham Neil hosts this night of stories and songs from a career that spanned six decades, Haggard’s rise from poverty and prison to international fame through his 40 #1 hits including “Working Man Blues”, “Mama Tried”, “Silver Wings”, and “Okie From Muskogee”.
Jess Lee rose to fame as the lead singer of the Midnite Rodeo Band, charting 14 singles and numerous awards in the ’80’s before Lee went solo with songs like “Crowhill Road”. Praised by Country Music News as the best pure country voice in Canada, Lee effortlessly emulates the rich, smooth baritone of Merle Haggard.
