A Christmas tradition returns to Camrose this season with Friday evening and Saturday Matinee performances. It’s Alberta’s Ukrainian Nutcracker, featuring The Ukrainian Shumka Dancers and guests joining forces for the classic Nutcracker.
Shumka’s Nutcracker is the only Ukrainian folk ballet representation of Tchaikovsky’s Christmas Classic. Given the famous composer’s Ukrainian heritage, the production incorporates Ukrainian Christmas traditions, folk and character dance, a grand orchestral version of Shchedryk (Carol of the Bells), and Ukrainian symbols woven into the lavish sets and costumes.
See the magic at the Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre! Tickets are adult: $48.59 and student/senior: $44.54.
